Should you choose SteamCleaner Pro or SteamCleaner? The difference comes down to size, reach, and equipment. Both make steam from water. Neither of them sucks up dirt, and neither of them picks up pet hair.
Pro is the larger one. It stands on wheels, has a longer cord, and a tank you can fill while it is running. The standard model weighs 1.9 kg, is ready in 15 seconds, and stays upright while you work. The pressure is 4 bar on both, so pressure is not the reason to choose the larger one.
What actually sets them apart
The standard model costs 795 kr (previously 1,195 kr). Pro costs 2,995 kr, with no comparison price. These were the prices on September 29, 2026.
Pro has a 2,200 ml tank. The standard model has 1,250 ml, and it may only be filled when it is switched off and unplugged. Pro can be filled while it is running.
Power is 2,600 W on Pro and 1,500 W on the standard model. Pro heats up in about one minute and is ready when the display shows 90 °C. The standard model is ready in 15 seconds and has 6 steam settings. Pro instead has two modes, DRY and WET.
Pro runs for around 45 to 50 minutes. The standard model runs for up to 40 minutes. Pro weighs 5.7 kg net and measures 24 × 24 × 22 cm. The standard model weighs 1.9 kg and measures 24 × 15.5 × 13 cm.
Numbers side by side
- Tank: Pro 2,200 ml, and it can be filled during use. Standard 1,250 ml, only when switched off and unplugged.
- Power and runtime: Pro 2,600 W and around 45 to 50 minutes. Standard 1,500 W and up to 40 minutes.
- Reach: Pro has a 2.2-meter steam hose, a 3.5-meter cord, and four swivel wheels. Standard has a 1.5-meter cord and no wheels.
- Noise: The standard model is rated at 60 to 85 dB. Pro has no stated noise rating.
- Power supply: Both must remain plugged in. Standard is 220 to 240 V, 50 to 60 Hz.
The temperature is not given as one single figure. The standard model is rated at up to 100 °C and approximately 100 °C, and in one place at over 100 °C. For Pro, the specification says approximately 140 °C. Elsewhere it says 140 °C, up to 140 °C, over 140 °C, or up to 145 °C. Do not choose a machine based on one temperature figure from that list.
Equipment, and what is not included
Pro comes with a triangular brush, two telescopic tubes, one nozzle, two copper brushes, six nylon brushes, a floor mop, a glass scraper, a microfiber cloth, three mop cloths, a microfiber cover, and a heat-resistant glove. One label says 11 pieces. That number does not add up if each brush and cloth is counted, so here is the list instead of a number.
The standard model has 8 nozzles. It has neither a floor mop, telescopic tubes, nor wheels. In one place it says that a 2-meter steam hose is included. This is not stated in the actual specification list. The advertisement or video may show the long wand. That belongs to Pro.
Where the steam may be used, and where it may not
Both must be kept away from unsealed wooden floors, laminate, soft plastic, drywall, cork, unfinished wood, delicate fabrics such as velvet and acrylic, wallpaper, and old materials. Do not use them on untreated or absorbent materials where moisture can penetrate. Steam does not remove mold embedded deep in drywall or wood. Test in a hidden spot.
They are not the same when it comes to paint. The standard model must not be used on painted or varnished surfaces. Pro is only not recommended for painted and varnished surfaces with damage.
Neither of them is a vacuum cleaner. A wet stain that needs to be rinsed out and sucked up from a sofa or carpet requires a different machine.
How to choose
- One kitchen and one bathroom: The standard model is often enough. It is lighter, ready in 15 seconds, and has 6 settings.
- Floors, several rooms, car, and patio: Pro, because the wheels, 2.2-meter hose, 3.5-meter cord, mop, and telescopic tubes provide reach. The long wand is included only with this model.
- Long sessions without stopping: Pro can be filled while it is running. The standard model must be switched off and unplugged before the tank is refilled.
- You want a lightweight machine in the cupboard: 1.9 kg is easier to lift than 5.7 kg.
